A working chair for every mobility need
For temporary, long-term or permanent physical limitations, a working chair can be a suitable solution. At MSP, we have three popular standard models: Levi, Adam and Milo. Each model has its own advantages. In addition to these models, there is always the possibility of adding customisation on request. Contact us and we will discuss the options to provide the best care.
Working chair Levi: the 'entry level' version
Levi is the entry-level model and ideal for temporary mobility needs, like after knee surgery. This chair, with its gas spring mechanism, is widely used in the lending market. It is a budget-friendly option for people who still have sufficient body functionality to operate the high/low function via a gas spring.
Working chair Adam: the 'workhorse'
Adam, the 'workhorse', is equipped with an electric high-low adjustment and supports users up to 135 kg. This chair is very suitable for elderly people or those with physical disabilities, allowing them to live independently at home for longer. The electric adjustability allows users to stand and sit more easily, increasing independence. Adam is equipped with folding bracket and fold-away armrests for sideways transfer as standard.
Working chair Milo: the 'premium model'
Milo, the premium model, can handle a users weight of up to 180 kg and has electric brakes on all four wheels for maximum stability. Designed for people with significant physical limitations, this chair offers the most options for adjustments, including electric tilt and/or back adjustment and adjustable leg rests.
Customisation of the working chair
Every working chair from MSP can be adapted to the specific needs of the user:
- Custom seats
For users with specific needs, such as those who have had an amputation, the seats of the chairs can be adjusted using arthrodesis adjustment. This means that parts of the seat can be raised or lowered to prevent the user from sliding off the chair.
- Memory foam upholstery
For extra comfort and support, MSP offers the option of equipping the chairs with memory foam upholstery, providing a more comfortable seating experience, especially for prolonged use.
- Hemiplegia armrests
Specially designed armrests with a bowl-shaped support on the outside are available for people with muscle cramps or spasms. This helps keep the arm in place and provides extra stability.
- Lumbar support
For additional back support, the chairs can be equipped with a lumbar pump, allowing users to adjust the pressure in the lower back as required.
- Tilt adjustment
Both manual and electric tilt adjustments are available, depending on the user's needs and capabilities.
- Control with osteoarthritis buttons
For users with osteoarthritis or limited strength in the fingers, MSP offers special control buttons that are easier to use.
These options are just a few examples of the customised solutions we offer. In collaboration with ergotherapists, these adjustments are carefully tailored to the individual needs of each user to provide the best possible support and comfort. At MSP, it is possible to create a working chair that is not only functional, but also perfectly suited to the user's specific requirements.
Safety and user-friendliness of the working chairs
Safety and ease of use are the main priorities for all working chairs. For example, they have a well-designed footrest and a stable frame to prevent tipping. Adjustable armrests allow sideways movements. For the seat of the working chairs, we conducted a seating study. This showed that patients' sitting bones are more or less in the same place regardless of their weight. The seats are therefore designed with a 'dimple' for optimal support of the lower sitting bones, which is essential for long-term comfort.
Sustainability and maintenance
Sustainability has been taken into account in the development process of MSP's working chairs. We use high-quality materials and coatings to ensure a long durability. Also, the fabrics used for our upholstery are highly wear-resistant, fireproof and antibacterial. The switch we are about to make to all-plastic modular wheels also contributes to extending the working chairs' lifespan. Because the wheels are modular, only the defective part needs to be replaced instead of the whole wheel.
In addition to our standard working chairs Levi, Adam and Milo, additional functionalities are possible, tailored to your mobility needs. We have years of experience in making customised working chairs. Curious about what we can do for you? Then get in touch with us.
